WHAT TO EXPECT
Could this possibly be Adelaide's best day out?
Starting with a private transfer from your Adelaide accommodation to the airport, you'll embark on a short, 45 minute flight to Port Lincoln where your expert local guide awaits. The first destination on your luxury Coffin Bay tour is the aptly named Coffin Bay National Park, home to some of the best beaches on the Eyre Peninsula. Wander secluded shores where powder-white sand meets gently lapping turquoise waves and keep your camera at the ready; Almonta Beach is postcard perfection. Soak in the solitude or get to know the local kangaroos and emus who call the coast home.
Afterwards, wind your way along the coast to the day's main drawcard, the world-famous oysters of Coffin Bay. Glide along glassy waters to a working oyster lease with Experience Coffin Bay, learning about the Eyre Peninsula's enviable seafood industry along the way. Pull up in prime position surrounded by Pacific oysters ripe for the picking and pluck them straight from the water yourself. Perfect your shucking skills, then dig into the legendary local delicacies. En route back to shore, sip local sparkling and keep your eyes peeled for dolphins.
Your Coffin Bay oyster farm tour was just the entrée. Back on land, 1802 Oyster Bar & Restaurant head chef Andy has been busy preparing an exclusive sampling menu featuring his favourite dishes and utilising the best regional produce sourced from the surrounding sea and land. Enjoy a lingering long lunch overlooking the bay, then venture to your next destination; Mikkira Station. Here, some 150 wild koalas set the scene for an unforgettable wildlife encounter and endless photo opportunities.
Meandering slowly back towards Port Lincoln, pass through the pristine coastal landscapes of Lincoln National Park. Pause at Wanna Lookout and sample a selection of local wines perched above Sleaford Bay. As the sun begins to set and your tour draws to an end, your guide will return you to the airport for your 7:40 pm flight back to Adelaide. Your airport transfer will have you back to your accommodation at approximately 9pm.
