Cancellations by You

We strongly advise you to take out travel insurance which includes cover for cancellation costs.

If you cancel some or all portions of your booking the cancellation terms set out below will apply.

If you cancel a booking:

	<li style="text-align:justify">21 days or more prior to departure, we will charge the lessor amount between the booking deposit amount and 25% of the total booking amount.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">Within 8 to 20 days prior to departure, we will charge 50% of the booking amount.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">7 days or fewer prior to departure or no show, we will charge 100% of the booking amount.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">Mt Wellington Descent tour only- we may at our absolute discretion charge the following fees: within 7 Days- 25%, within 48 to 24 hours- 50%, or within 24 hours or no show- 100% of booking amount.</li>

If you cancel a booking due to COVID-19:

<ul>
	<li style="text-align:justify">Within 7&nbsp;days of departure and due to you having COVID-19 or symptoms and supported by a medical certificate, or due to border closures inhibiting your ability to travel, we will refund monies paid by you in connection with the booking less any unrecoverable costs.</li>
</ul>

If you are not present at your tour&rsquo;s department time, you join the tour after departure, or leave the tour prior to its completion for any reason, no refund will be made.

Cancellations by Us

If we cancel your tour, you can transfer the fare paid towards a tour on an alternate date or alternatively receive a full refund. Refunds will be provided where required by Australian Consumer Law.&nbsp;

In circumstances where a cancellation is due to external events outside our reasonable control, refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights.&nbsp;

We visit some incredible places throughout Tasmania, and wherever possible get out of the bus to&nbsp;explore. While most of our trips are active in nature our guides aim to offer walks that cater for all types of fitness with&nbsp;easy, medium and hard walking options.

Bring clothing that suits the season, while including warm clothes (it can get cold in the mountains), comfortable walking shoes, toiletries, a towel, hat, sunscreen, waterproof jacket, swimsuit, water bottle and camera. Luggage is restricted to one normal pack, bag or case (20kg) plus a small day pack.

All full day &amp; extended tours include pick up and drop off from your city hostel or hotel.&nbsp; Our tours leave from all major gateways to Tasmania so no matter whether you arrive by boat to Devonport, or by plane to Hobart or Launceston we have a tour to suit you.

The tours that we offer are designed to help you see as much of Tasmania as possible with like minded travelers. There is no maximum age provided you have a good sense of adventure and a reasonable level of fitness, however we do have a minimum age of 8 years old to ensure all passengers get the most from the tour!

Our&nbsp;maximum group size if 24 passengers plus the tour guide. These small group sizes&nbsp;allow you plenty of time to get to know your fellow passengers and guide.

Our tours are conducted in modern, comfortable air-conditioned buses. By having small groups&nbsp;it means we can spend as much time as possible outside the bus exploring the wonderful sights of Tasmania.

We included everything we believe is needed to have a great time in Tasmania while keeping our prices as low as possible. There are no extra charges or fees on any of our tours so the only expenses you&rsquo;ll have throughout the tour will be extra meals not included, optional extras or souvenirs from the great places you&rsquo;ll visit. To give you a general idea our tours will always include:

Currently, masks are not mandatory in Tasmania on our tour vehicles, in accordance with the advice of the Tasmanian Public Health Authority. If this changes, guests and staff will be required to follow their current directions regarding masks.&nbsp; As a minimum requirement, we ask that you bring your own masks on tour, and keep one with you at all times. Learn how to safely wear, wash, and dispose of masks prior to coming on tour.

On our tours you will find additional cleaning, sanitising, and hygiene practices.  We focus on high touch points and hard surfaces.  We follow the WorkSafe guidelines for disinfecting and sanitising, as well as the recommended cleaning products.&nbsp; We have also we have implemented new Covid-19 staff training.

Any guest that tests positive for COVID-19 while on tour will be assisted by our staff to receive any medical attention they may require. Under Down Under will abide by the guidance of local health authorities. Please be aware that while we will assist any and all guests that require medical care or other support, any expenses incurred for treatment, testing or quarantine will need to be covered by the guest or guests affected.

Please bring a supply of hand sanitiser. We shall provide some on our tour vehicle and your accommodations will have some accessible; however, having your own supply will ensure that you have some protection during free time when you are exploring on your own.

Prior to travel, it is essential that you let our office know if you experience any symptoms of COVID-19, have been in isolation, or are known to have been in contact with someone that is suspected or has had COVID-19. Further, upon pick-up of all guests at the beginning of tour we shall ask each guest to complete a short health survey. At that time, if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, we will assist you to seek medical advice immediately. You will not be permitted to join the tour until cleared by a medical professional.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for travel to cover a broad range of potential travel issues. Each policy differs, and it is important to check your individual policy inclusions and exclusions

We head from Hobart&rsquo;s waterfront to the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington for breathtaking views of Southern Tasmania. Highlight: a panoramical view over the stunning city of Hobart.

After soaking in the vistas, we are ready for Tasmania&rsquo;s ultimate downhill bicycle ride, starting at 1272 m above sea level. On the 21 km guided ride down, we will see landscapes contrasting from sub-alpine and mountain rainforests to the lively Hobart waterfront. An optional off-road section is available for the daredevils.&nbsp;

This bike tour is suitable for people who can ride a bike confidently, aged over 8 years old and with a minimum height of 140cm.

Kunanyi/Mt Wellington&nbsp; 
Mount Wellington is officially known as Kunanyi / Mount Wellington and is situated in the southeast coastal region of Tasmania. Hobart city is built on the foothills of the mountain. It also is the summit of the Wellington Range.&nbsp;

&nbsp;

Kunanyi / Mount Wellington has an altitude of 1,271 metres (4,170 ft) above sea level. It is often covered by snow, even on some summer days. &nbsp;The lower slopes are covered by green forest. It boasts many walking tracks through the forests. Near the summit, you can find a lookout that provides stunning views of the city of Hobart. From Hobart City, you can see characteristic cliffs of dolerite columns. These are known as the Organ Pipes.&nbsp;

Cascade Gardens&nbsp; 
Cascade Gardens is a green and tree-shaded park close to Cascade Brewery and 19th century Cascades Female Factory remains. The gardens are located less than 5 km from Hobart and are accommodated with a children&#39;s playground, a running creep, lush lawns and a rhododendron-filled picnic and BBQ area. It is no surprise that the Cascade Gardens are frequently visited for family outings. The park is full of history and dates back to 1827. From the Cascade Gardens, you can follow a track along the Hobart Rivulet, which passes the inner suburb of South Hobart and continues to the city centre.&nbsp;

Battery Point&nbsp; 
Battery Point finds its origins in the early days of Hobart in the 1800s. It is known for its colonial architecture, winding streets, and historical atmosphere. It is one of the most fascinating historic precincts in Australia. Today Battery Point has become one of the hippest suburbs of Hobart. However, you can still notice its historical links with the past of Hobart and Tasmania.&nbsp;

Salamanca Place&nbsp; 
Salamanca Place consists of rows of sandstone buildings. These used to serve as warehouses for the port of Hobart Town. Today the buildings have been transformed into restaurants, galleries, craft shops and offices. Salamanca Place is named after the 1812 victory of the Duke of Wellington in the Battle of Salamanca (a Spanish province).&nbsp;

Deposit Requirement

You are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of AUD$95 per person per trip for your booking to be confirmed. If your booking is made within 21 days of the departure date, then the full amount is payable at the time of booking.&nbsp;

Acceptance of booking and final payments

If we accept your booking, we will issue you with a booking confirmation notice by email. A contract will exist between you and us from the date we issue the confirmation notice or if you book within 21 days of departure the contract will exist when we accept your payment. Please refer to your booking confirmation for details regarding final payments, including how to make the payment. Payment of the balance of the trip price is due 21 days before the departure date. If this balance is not paid on or before the due date, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled and any cancellation charges outlined at clause 4 (Cancellation by You) will apply.

Booking Changes

If you require a change to your booking, no fees will be charged if changes are made 21 days or more prior to departure. Changes within 21 days of departure are only permitted when operationally possible and fees of up to $95 per amendment may be charged.

Itinerary and Price Changes

We reserve the right in our absolute discretion at all times to amend itineraries, inclusions and prices and where necessary cancel departures due to operational reasons, minimum number restrictions or weather conditions. Please note that minimum numbers restrictions apply for all tour departures. If an amendment as aforementioned is to take place, we will try to provide you with reasonable notice.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is NOT INCLUDED in the cost of your tour. It is strongly recommended that you have personal travel insurance sufficient to cover loss or damage to property, illness, injury, or not being able to travel on the confirmed date of departure. We are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings or luggage, for any injury or loss of any type while on tour.

We are not responsible for any damage, expense or inconvenience caused by late arrival of flights or public transport, change of schedule, strikes, vehicle breakdown, acts of God, or other conditions.&nbsp; We reserve the right to alter the itinerary should it be deemed necessary. We act solely as an agent in securing accommodation and, where applicable, public transport or other services, and are not liable for any loss or inconvenience in the event of any failure by any person or company to render transportation, accommodation or other services.

Health and Safety

You acknowledge that the nature of the tour is adventure travel and participation involves a degree of personal risk. You agree to advise us prior to commencement of any tour of any pre-existing medical conditions you have which may affect your ability to participate in any part of the tour or other information we need to know to include you safely in the tour or activity.&nbsp; We reserve the right to withdraw any person who in our opinion is likely to endanger themselves or others. We also reserve the right to cancel the day&rsquo;s touring if we become concerned for any reason for your safety or that of any other person. To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for disruption to travel plans or mental injury is excluded.&nbsp;

Age and Physical Requirements

A traveller must be minimum age of 12 years at the time of the tour to participate. We have no upper age limit though we remind you our tours can be physically demanding and we expect you to have a reasonable level of fitness and act responsibly to ensure your own safety and the safety of others at all times. Our tours have a component of free walking, all of which is done at your own risk. All travellers under the age of 18 years at time of the tour must be accompanied by a legal guardian, or in lieu of a legal guardian, by a responsible escort over the age of 18 years, appointed by their legal guardian. The legal guardian or escort of any traveller under the age of 18 years will be responsible for the day-to-day care of travellers in their charge. A legal guardian may apply for an exemption to the age requirements. This application must be made in writing to us and we reserve the right to make any determination in our absolute discretion.

The Mount Wellington Descent

The Mt Wellington Descent is designed for people of average fitness level. Participants (&ldquo;riders&rdquo;) should have good balance and be able to operate a bicycle safely including on public roads and maintain control to match their individual riding ability.&nbsp; Riders must be at least 12 years of age and measure a minimum height of 150cm. Riders under 18 years, at the time of the tour, must be accompanied by a legal guardian or escort. Riders are required to sign an activity indemnity waiver prior to participation (Children under 18 years must have form signed by their legal guardian). Enclosed footwear must be worn, and warm and suitable clothing is recommended as mountain temperatures can be very cold at times. Mt Wellington Summit can be affected at times by changing weather conditions. Subject to those conditions we cannot always guarantee views due to poor visibility. The tour is a 3-hour experience with a scheduled start and finish in Hobart and a cycle descent from the summit of Mt Wellington to the Hobart waterfront. On any given tour every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary however should circumstances require (such as strong winds, riding pace or road conditions) the riding part of the tour may start and finish at another point determined by the guide. Should weather conditions become extreme we reserve the right to alter, delay or cancel a scheduled departure. In the event of cancellation of a tour due to weather a refund will be given if an alternate tour cannot be provided. In the event that a tour is cancelled after partial or substantial completion, we may provide a partial refund in our absolute discretion.

Optional Activities

Optional activities, as described in the itinerary, are at your own expense, are not included in the price of the tour and do not form part of these terms and conditions. You accept that any assistance given by your guide or any other member of our staff in arranging optional activities does not render us liable for them in any way. The contract for the provision of that activity will be between you and activity provider.

Privacy Policy

Any personal information that we collect about you may be used for any purpose associated with the operation of a tour. The information may be disclosed to our agents, service providers or other suppliers to enable us to operate the tour. Use of Your Image

Throughout our tours our guides will take photos which may include you. We may wish to use those photos for promotional purposes. By joining the tour, you acknowledge and agree that we or our agents may take photos of you and you consent to us using images of you taken during the tour for our advertising and promotional purposes in any medium we choose. You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable licence to use such images for publicity and promotional purposes.

If you don&rsquo;t wish to take part, please inform your guide at the start of your tour. We will not use any image containing persons under the age of 18 years at the time of tour.

Claims &amp; Complaints

If you have a complaint about your tour, please inform your guide or our representative as soon as possible in order that they can attempt to rectify the matter. If you are unsatisfied with the resolution at this level, then any further complaint should be put in writing and sent via email to&nbsp;<a href="mailto:info@underdownunder.com.au">info@underdownunder.com.au</a>&nbsp;or by post to GPO Box 417, Hobart, Tasmania 7001 within 30 days of the end of the tour.
