Your accommodation on this trip is at private semi-permanent tented campsites. However, this isn&#39;t the most basic camping experience, as you&#39;ll have stretcher beds to sleep on. Please bring your own sleeping bag. Please note that facilities are shared with other nearby campsites, including toilets and shower blocks, which are a short walk from where you&#39;ll camp.

On some days of the trip, you&#39;ll spend many hours driving through very sparse areas of Australia. Sit back and enjoy landscapes you would miss in any other form of travel. Think of it as a great way to get to know your fellow travellers. The drive days can be long, but it&#39;s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie.

&nbsp;

Group participation makes up a lot of this trip, so you&#39;ll be required to help with the preparation of meals and cleaning up. These are the kind of tasks that bring a group closer together.

This trip includes walks and hikes around the major landmarks of this area. Please read the daily itinerary carefully for details. Walking is the best way to explore these stunning geological features in this otherwise flat landscape, so make sure you bring along comfortable walking shoes.

Due to limited vehicle space and strictly enforced road laws regarding weight limits, your main piece of luggage must be soft-sided and weigh no more than 15kg/33lb. You can also bring a day pack/bag to carry water, a camera, sunscreen, etc, when you&rsquo;re exploring during the day. Please note that The Operator is unable to carry large suitcases, particularly hard/externally framed suitcases, as they are difficult to store and can damage equipment and other travellers&#39; belongings.

	Sleep sheet. If you are travelling during the hotter months you may wish to pack a sleep sheet so you can be comfortable no matter what the weather

VALUABLES 
Try to avoid bringing unnecessary valuables. The Operator strongly recommends that you photocopy all important documents, e.g. air tickets, passport, vaccination certificate, etc. and keep the copies separate from the originals. While not valid, a photocopy makes it much easier to obtain replacements if necessary.

&nbsp;

BATTERIES/POWER 
Most of the trips have access to power to recharge batteries for phones and cameras every couple of days. There are some days when there is no power at the campsites at all. The Operator always recommends that you carry an extra battery or power bank for your phone/camera, just in case.

Your vehicle will be equipped with a 12-volt &ldquo;cigarette lighter&rdquo; socket, which may be used at the crew&rsquo;s discretion. However, do bear in mind that only one piece of equipment can be charged at a time, and it will not be allowed if there is a risk of running the vehicle&rsquo;s batteries low. Batteries may also be recharged from hotel room wall sockets. Hotels and campsites may have sockets for guests to recharge personal items.

&nbsp;

WATER BOTTLE 
Please bring your own water bottle to refill along the way. Although it can be difficult to avoid bottled water when travelling, please use the water dispensers which are provided on some of the vehicles and at some of the accommodation. Your leader will advise whether tap water is safe to drink in your destination. If it is, you can simply refill it with tap water. When unable to avoid bottled water, it is better to buy the largest available and distribute it into your smaller bottle for the day.

Temperatures in the Red Centre can be extreme. During the day, the weather can be very hot (and the Australian sun is very strong), so please bring appropriate clothing, use sun protection and drink plenty of water. In the evenings, temperatures really drop, so bring base layers and warm clothing, including to sleep in. In the middle of winter, temperatures can drop well below zero at night, so you may want to consider bringing an additional sleeping bag to keep warm at night.

If you have any dietary requirements, please advise your booking agents at the time you make your booking along with your leader at the time of the group meeting. While most dietary requirements can be catered for, you may also like to bring along some of your own supplies to ensure you can enjoy your favourite foods, as these may be limited in remote locations.

&nbsp;

All breakfasts are included on this tour and will be eaten at camp before setting off for the day. Lunches are typically picnic-style and will be eaten in a scenic location during or between activities. For the included dinners, you will usually head to the local pub or a nearby restaurant, while on the nights where dinner isn&#39;t included, you can choose where you would like to dine, with or without the group. Your leader will be able to advise of options.&nbsp;

In Australia, tipping, while appreciated, can be the exception rather than the norm. As a guide, tipping is appropriate in a restaurant for a meal (10-15% as a general rule). In a taxi, a cafe or a bar, rounding up is acceptable.

&nbsp;

You can consider tipping your leader for outstanding service throughout your trip. The amount is entirely a personal preference; however, as a guideline, AUD 2-5 per person per day can be used. Of course, you are free to tip more or less as you see fit, depending on your perception of service quality and the length of your trip. Remember, a tip is not compulsory and should only be given when you receive excellent service.

Enjoy nights under canvas in the Aussie Outback &ndash; minus the hassles of battling tent poles and hammering in pegs &ndash; in permanently sited, hard-floor campsites.&nbsp;

Think more comfortable than standard &quot;camping&quot; - but a little less sophisticated than &quot;glamping&quot;.

The tour departs from the meeting point at Alice Springs Hotel (formerly Aurora Alice Springs), 11 Leichhardt Terrace, Alice Springs at 8am. Meeting location may change, please check your final documents for the confirmed location.&nbsp;

For those of extending their stay in Yulara or flying out of Yulara&#39;s Airport, you&#39;ll be back at the resort at approximately 12:30pm, from where you can catch the shuttle to the airport. If your flight leaves in the morning please note that you will miss out on this morning&#39;s activities. The Operator recommends you stay an additional night in Yulara. The rest of the group will continue to Alice Springs from here, with an arrival back in town at around 6:30pm. Please consider these times when booking onward transportation or flights from Yulara or Alice Springs.

Day 1: Alice Springs to Kings Canyon

&nbsp;

Welcome to Australia&#39;s Red Centre! Your adventure kicks off bright and early in Alice Springs (8am)&nbsp;this morning with a welcome meeting to start the trip.&nbsp;It is imperative that you are on time as the tour will depart for Kings Canyon right away, and your guide cannot delay the departure. Therefore, it&#39;s strongly recommended you arrive a day before your trip to avoid issues.&nbsp;

&nbsp;

Alice Springs is the perfect place to begin your journey into the ancient culture and landscapes of Australia&#39;s Red Centre. It acts as a launching pad to reach some of Australia&#39;s most incredible landscapes.

&nbsp;

Hit the open road to Kings Canyon soon after the welcome meeting. You can expect the drive to be framed by the rusty red landscape, and you might catch glimpses of native wildlife like kangaroos from your window. With a quick stop in Erldunda to pick up lunch (not included), you&#39;ll arrive in Kings Canyon later in the afternoon.

&nbsp;

You&#39;ll have some time to settle in before joining your newfound travel companions by the fire for an Outback BBQ and grill dinner to kick off your Red Centre adventure.

Day 2: Kings Canyon

&nbsp;

After breakfast this morning, head out to soak in the remarkable scenery of Watarrka National Park during a walk around the rim of Kings Canyon. With soaring cliffs and ethereal rock formations, you&#39;d be hard-pressed to find a more magical place.

&nbsp;

The walk starts with a challenging climb to the top of the canyon to take in unrivalled views before descending through the Lost City, a series of natural sandstone domes resembling ancient ruins, the remnants of eons of weathering. Next, continue down to the Garden of Eden, named for its lush greenery that stands in contrast to the rest of the arid landscape.

&nbsp;

After your walk, you&#39;ll head back to camp to refuel with a picnic lunch.

&nbsp;

This afternoon, you&#39;ll enjoy an Aboriginal cultural experience &ndash; where you&#39;ll learn about bush tucker food (including the Witchetty Grub), bush medicine and the history of dot painting from local First Nations guides. This is a true, authentic experience and something you won&#39;t soon forget.

Day 3: King Canyon to&nbsp;Kata Tjuta to Uluru to Yulara

&nbsp;

This morning, you&#39;ll pack up and head out to Kata Tjuta (formerly known as &#39;The Olgas&#39;), a towering collection of 36 domed rock formations &ndash; these rust-coloured beauties are truly one of Australia&#39;s most impressive sights.

&nbsp;

Here, you&#39;ll tuck into a picnic lunch at the&nbsp;Kata Tjuta sunset area &ndash; talk about a meal with a view &ndash; before embarking on the&nbsp;Walpa Gorge walk. This walk takes you between two of the stunning red domed rock formations that make up Kata Tjuta. Mount Olga stands proudly on one side of the gorge, towering above the track below &ndash; giving you a real sense of just how incredible this place is.

&nbsp;

After your walk, you&#39;ll make your way to one of Australia&#39;s most spiritually significant and iconic sites, Uluru. From a prime viewing location, you&#39;ll enjoy the view as the sun sets over the epic sandstone monolith &ndash; watching the incredible landscape shift in colour is a sight you won&#39;t soon forget! To show respect for Uluru&#39;s cultural and spiritual significance to the Anangu people, alcohol won&#39;t be served during the sunset viewing.

&nbsp;

This evening, tuck into an included dinner. Depending on the time of year, this will be either before or after the sunset viewing.

Day 4: Yulara to Uluru to Alice Springs

&nbsp;

Start the day early in one of the best ways imaginable &ndash; watching a spectacular sunrise over Uluru. Set off on the Kuniya Walk with your leader as the sun climbs over the landscape, and walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole with a First Nations guide leading the way. Your guide will explain what makes this waterhole sacred while sharing stories of the incredible landscape and its connection to the Anangu people.

&nbsp;

Afterwards, stop by the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to continue immersing yourself in First Nations culture. Then, make your way back to Yulara to drop off anyone leaving the tour here before departing for Alice Springs.

&nbsp;

You will arrive back in Alice Springs this evening around 6:30pm, at which time your Outback adventure will come to an end.

We are so lucky to have Mark from Rockstars to be our tour guide.
Our days were full of fun exploring Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuka and Uluru. Mark knows very well about aboriginal culture. He helps us to understand and respect the castodians of the countries. He even organised to meet with the elder, Mariam and her lovely family and their awesome interpreter, Michelle.
Mark knows the right time to start the walk on each of those places, so all of us did not have to struggle with the heat of the sun.
He made all of us enjoys the walk each day, by him sharing plenty of stories to us and took lots of fun photos.
Thank you Mark, that you willing to drive back to pick up my son when he decided to going back to the van, did not realise that we all suppose to meet you at the other end (my son and I did not paid attention when you told us so)

One of the highlights of our trip was this. When visiting Uluru, you must do this. I had a great time. When we come back, we'll repeat this. The tour guide rocked. The organizers were so kind and comforting that they helped you feel at ease during the trip and made you feel extremely knowledgable about the environment around us. It was nice that our hotel was picked up and dropped off for us. Additionally, the sunset was stunning. This was awesome! Do it without delay.

Wait until you see it in person! Despite having seen pictures, nothing could have prepared me for this incredible sight. We are absolutely amazed by the rock's massiveness when we first saw it. Without a doubt, it is magnificent. Naturally, it is a necessary to visit. We took the Base Walk and really enjoyed the Rock. It was a must if you want to truly understand the location and observe the Rock's numerous changing faces. This magnificent experience is truly worth the long drive at any time of day. Don't miss the dawn or sunset; both are beautiful and display the rocks in various hues. Lastly, make sure you are physically fit so you can take in some of the more exciting experiences

When in Australia, see this stunning location. All I can say is that it seems unreal and that there isn't a care in the world. It's so serene and almost mystical! Everyone should visit this lovely region of our nation. It is outstanding. It was fascinating to learn about Uluru's legends. The BBQ was well-planned and delectable. It was amazing to watch the rock's color shift up close. Although our tour guide was very inexperienced, she did a fantastic job of keeping us educated about the area and sharing many interesting tales. We heartily suggest this tour since he was great, extremely informed, and amusing in his remarks.
