Allow $205- $270 USD for meals.&nbsp;Eating is a big part of traveling. On this tour, you&#39;ll experience the vast array of wonderful food. Generally meals are not included in the trip price when there is a choice of eating options, to give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat. It also gives you more budgeting flexibility, though generally food is cheap. Our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other&#39;s company. There is no obligation to do this though. Your CEO will be able to suggest favourite restaurants during your trip.

On this trip you can expect to stay in small local hotels or pensions (with the exception of the start and finish hotels, which are often larger city hotels), which will vary a little in standard and facilities: some may not have elevators, air-conditioning or English-speaking staff, but most importantly all are locally-run and in excellent central locations to give you maximum time for exploring the sights.

Singles:&nbsp;Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and single travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.

While visiting mosques and other religious monuments you should dress modestly, cover your shoulders and you shouldn&#39;t wear short shorts or skirts. Outside of capital cities and the more touristic centres, local dress is often more conservative and as a matter of respect we ask that both men and women are aware of this and recommend loose-fitting clothes with your shoulders covered. Ask your CEO for more specific advice.

To respect the Islamic culture in Oman and to honour your gracious hosts, women should cover from shoulders to knees. Mid-calf pants and skirts with short sleeved tops are a great option for this. When visiting mosques, long sleeves and a scarf to cover your head are mandatory. They can be removed once you leave the mosque grounds. Please note on Days 3 and 4 when swimming options are available we suggest wearing capri length yoga pants and a t-shirt as a modest bathing suit.

Upon arrival at Amman International Airport, please make your way to the joining hotel. Official airport taxis cost around 20 JOD. The drive can take between 20 minutes and 1 hour depending on the time of day and traffic conditions. You should fix a price with your driver before you get into the car and set off.

We recommend using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage.

It is important to pack clothes for warm to hot days and cool evenings. A set of smart casual clothes is also advisable.

Maybe. Jordan visa can be obtained on arrival at land and airport borders for most nationalities for a fee of 40 JOD. While most travellers are not required to obtain their visa in advance, there are exceptions and you must check the requirements of your particular passport. While we provide this information in good faith, your visa is your responsibility. If you are departing Jordan by Air, then no departure tax is required as it is already included on the air ticket. If you are departing Jordan by land then you will be required to pay an 10 JOD departure tax .

Day 1: Amman 
Feel free to explore before your welcome meeting, but make sure you are back in time to meet the rest of your grou!&nbsp;After introductions, your CEO will review the details of your tour.

 
Day 2: Amman/Jerash/Dead Sea/Amman 
Today, enjoy a guided visit to the ancient Roman town of Jerash.&nbsp;Take a step back in time as you visit one of the most well-preserved Roman sites outside of Italy. Wander amid its paved and colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples, handsome theatres, spacious public squares and plazas, baths, fountains&nbsp;and city walls pierced by towers and gates &ndash; all in exceptional condition.

Then, venturte out to the Red Sea for a visit. Discover its legendary healing qualities with the landmark famous for its unique mineral makeup and salinity. Spot salt chunks drifting by like icebergs on the water&rsquo;s surface. Take a dip yourself and float like a buoy or cover yourself in the mud along the shore, believed to have medicinal and therapeutic benefits. There are showers nearby to wash off after.

 
Day 3: Amman/Karak/Petra 
Start the day with a guided visit to the intricate Madaba mosaics.&nbsp;Explore Madaba&rsquo;s long history&nbsp;including its role as the centre of early Christianity. See some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world, including the famous sixth-century mosaic map of the Middle East. Tour churches, the Archaeological Park, and the local museum that&#39;s housed in several old Madaba residences before heading to Mt Nebo.

Many believe here is the location of Moses&#39; death and has thus been a centre for pilgrimage since the earliest Christian times. Trek to the summit (817m or 2,680 ft), and be rewarded with views of the stunning surrounding countryside and Israel in the distance.

Enjoy a visit to the crusader castle at Karak and take a walk through history on this guided tour. The largest late-Islamic castle in Jordan, explore its unique construction &ndash; initially built in the Crusader period, it was expanded and refortified during the Ayyubid and Mamluk eras.Continue to Wadi Musa for the evening.

 
Day 4: Petra

Start early to visit iconic Petra. Enjoy a guided walking tour with your CEO, then opt to hike up to the top of the treasury or explore on your own. This evening, opt to visit a Turkish bath or visit Petra by night.

The site is large so please be prepared for a lot of walking over sand and rocks for the entire day. Pace yourself, stay hydrated and be sure to have proper walking/hiking shoes.

 
Day 5: Petra/Wadi Rum
