The weather in San Francisco is variable, and the sides of the van are open, so dress accordingly. April and May, as well as September and October, tend to be the warmest months. June, July, and August are foggy and colder than you might expect. The rainy season runs from November through to March.

&nbsp;

All year round, sunglasses and sunblock are recommended. Dress in layers that you can add or subtract over the course of the day. There are&nbsp;blankets and heavy jackets on the bus for your use as well.

The trails at Muir Woods are paved, but you will have the option to hike on unpaved trails. Please wear comfortable, appropriate footwear.

You are welcome to bring your own snacks or drinks on the van. For lunch, you can look over the menu at Davy Jones Deli <a href="http://www.daveyjonesdeli.com/menu" style="color:blue; text-decoration:underline">here</a>. Your guide&nbsp;will confirm your order and call it in the morning of the tour.

Spend the day sightseeing and exploring, with a touch of adventure, in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

The morning begins with pickup from your hotel and a drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to the nearby wilderness of Marin County. Spend at least an hour under the canopy of redwoods in the Muir Woods National Monument, where some of the trees are over 250 feet tall and more than a thousand years old.

&nbsp;

The tour arrives early in the Woods, before most visitors, so that you can experience the serenity of the grove in peace and quiet. You also have a better chance of seeing black-tailed deer, chipmunks, coyotes, or even wild turkeys.

&nbsp;

After enjoying your time under the towering trees, the tour drives out through the rolling green hills of the Tamalpais valley and into the Marin Headlands. Here roads cling to the cliffs above the Pacific ocean, and Red-Tailed Hawks soar in the sky. Next, explore abandoned military bunkers with beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco skyline in the background before heading to the seaplane base in Sausalito.

&nbsp;

Then it&#39;s time to take to the skies with a&nbsp;30-minute seaplane flight. First, journey along the coast over the Golden Gate National Recreation, retracing your morning adventure over the Marin Headlands, then turn left over the legendary Golden Gate Bridge herself! Continue on above Crissy Field, Downtown San Francisco, Oracle Park &ndash; Home of the Major League Baseball World Champion San Francisco Giants &ndash; then on over the infamous island prison of Alcatraz.

&nbsp;

Finally, your flight will be completed with a pass by the historic Angel Island &ndash; the Immigrant Gateway to the West &ndash; and a smooth landing back in Sausalito&rsquo;s Richardson Bay.

&nbsp;

On your return, you&#39;ll pop the cork on a champagne toast to enjoy a locally-sourced, organic lunch in the Marin sunshine and talk over the day&rsquo;s adventure.

&nbsp;

Finally, you will be dropped off in Sausalito to enjoy the village&rsquo;s arty shops, funky houseboats, and charming cafes before boarding a ferry back to San Francisco&rsquo;s Pier 39.&nbsp;The Blue and Gold ferry departs Sausalito at 2:50 pm, 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm and arrives at San Francisco&#39;s Pier 41 in Fisherman&#39;s Wharf 30 min later.&nbsp;

	<li>Muir Woods can be chilly in the morning and the bus is open-sided, so be sure to bring a warm layer. I will have blankets for you on the van and jackets to borrow as well.</li>
	<li>All tickets (Muir Woods entry and parking, seaplane flight, and Sausalito ferry) are included, as is lunch. You are welcome to bring your own snacks or drinks on the van.</li>

<h3>For the Seaplane Portion of the day:</h3>

All passengers will be weighed at the time of check-in to ensure better total gross weight and stay under the limit of 1255lbs (569Kg or 89 stones) for the entire group that will be flying together. Seaplane Adventures will have the right to ask passengers not to board the aircraft and will not be able to offer a refund for any single-seat purchased for someone exceeding the limited seat weight of 260lbs (124Kg or 18 stones). SA will provide an alternative time or date based on open seat availability to accommodate the guest/s that will need to purchase an additional seat/s. Pilots are also trained to load the aircraft safely based on weight distribution, so please be patient with where the pilot asks you to sit. Besides &ndash; everyone gets a window seat!
