What to Expect
This 2-day motorcycle tour through the Colombian jungle is the best way to explore the country's Sierra Nevada mountains. On this overnight tour, you will travel up winding mountain roads to Minca, where you can capture picturesque views of your starting spot in Santa Marta. Then, continue to ride through the region, enjoying a variety of local meals and snacks and scenery along the way.
Day 1
Your tour will depart Santa Marta at 9 am. Receive a pre-ride briefing from your qualified guide before getting behind the wheel of your Honda motorcycle and making your way to Minca. You will stop at La Victoria coffee plantation for a tour and tasting. Then, go swimming at Marinka waterfall and hike up to Los Pinos for views of Minca from 1200 metres above sea-level.
Total riding time today is approximately 5 hours. You will spend the night at Casas Viejas hostel.
Day 2
Wake up, eat breakfast, then prepare to explore some more. You will get the chance to take a mountain hike 1000 metres above sea level, through the jungle surrounding your hostel. You will also get to try cliff jumping at Pozo Azul swimming hole. Enjoy a lunch of smoked meats (or a vegetarian alternative) at Camarita's smokehouse before returning back to Santa Marta.
Total riding time today is approximately 4 hours. You will return to Santa Marta around 5 pm.

Beginner: Zero motorcycle experience required. Lessons are compulsory for first-time riders and included for free in the tour price, or you may ride an automatic scooter.
Intermediate: Comfortable riding a motorcycle on sealed roads, in moderate-heavy traffic, on mildly uneven/ unsealed roads, and up to 4-5 hours per day. You may require minor assistance in some harder off-road sections.
Advanced: Extensive riding experience (including a minimum 1 year off-road). You are comfortable riding on almost any terrain in any weather conditions for up to 6 hours per day.
Santa Marta: We are a short 5,000 COP taxi away. Our office is located at Carrera 21 #20 -36 in Bario Jardin (Drop Bear Hostel)
Cartagena: Your best bet for transportation to and from Cartagena is with Marsol or Berlinas. Both have comfortable shuttle vans, and Marsol even offers door to door service. Usually, the journey takes about 4 hours.
The meeting point for this tour is conveniently located at Drop Bear Hostel and offers dorm beds as well as private rooms at competitive rates.
In Colombia, you do not need an international driver's license when you are in the country on a tourist visa. Bikes 124cc and below do not require a motorcycle endorsement.
