What to Expect
Cape Point is located about 1.2km east of Cape of Good Hope and the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans. This day tour to Cape Point tour takes you along the Atlantic Seaboard, giving you the opportunity to feast your eyes on rugged coastlines and other landmarks such as the Twelve Apostles and the magnificent slopes of Lion’s Head.
The tour begins by taking you to Clifton with beaches ideal for sunbathing. The tour proceeds to Camps Bay where you'll stop for a photoshoot with the Twelve Apostle mountain range. Then you'll travel to Hout Bay where you'll visit a fishing harbour with an optional boat trip to seal island. The tour continues through the world-famous Chapman’s Peak Drive, a 9 km route with 114 curves. This is one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world.
Enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean on the winding road towards Cape Point. This is located about 1.2km east of Cape of Good Hope. It's the most South-Western corner of the African continent and the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans. Look out for ostrich, pelagic birds, zebra, and eland. Chacma baboons are common in the Cape Point nature reserve! You have the option of walking or taking a funicular ride to the upper lighthouse right at the tip of Cape Point.
After visiting the lighthouse at Cape Point, the tour travels to False Bay and stop at Boulders Beach to see African penguins. The tour continues through the towns of Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay, and Muizenberg en-route to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. After a big day of exploring Cape Town, the tour will drop you off at your hotel.
