Frequently Asked Questions about 3.5 Hour Weekday or Saturday Gourmet Lunch Tour

What’s the food like?

On the food tours, you’ll be served mostly a degustation (tasting) menu with an emphasis on fresh local ingredients as well as the influence of many cultures, including Aboriginal cultures. We cater to dietary preferences including vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free.

Standard soft drinks, coffee, and tea are included in the price of the food tours. Alcohol is not included in the price, but if you’d like to purchase alcohol, you can do so at most of the restaurants on the tour.

The tours are constantly changing, so there are lots to try. We focus on the best locally sourced food, no matter where it can be found. On a typical tour, we will take you to a variety of places and they might be a fancy restaurant or a hole-in-the-wall takeaway joint. We’re all about finding the tastiest food, no matter where. Most of the venues we visit are air-conditioned. Eating areas are non-smoking areas. Smoking areas are usually available nearby. Washrooms are available at several locations. All tours are wheelchair-accessible.

Our tours feature a constantly changing roster of restaurants and bars, which may include: Hanuman, Phat Mango, Little Miss Korea, Aboriginal Bush Traders, Char, Moorish, Roma Bar, Speakers Corner, Wharf One, Pepperberry Restaurant at the Hilton, Snapper Rocks, Chow, Bannsang, and others.

This is a relaxed walking tour on level and paved walkways. We won’t be walking far because the places we visit are relatively close to each other. The average walking distance is 1.2 kilometres, broken into short segments spaced out every 40 minutes or so on our 3-hour-long food tours. We'll provide transport if the weather is poor.

Please dress smart casual. You may want to wear shorts and a short-sleeved collared shirt in Darwin’s tropical climate, but no singlets or thongs please. Comfortable covered walking shoes are recommended.
