A private city walking tour of New York City can be from 2 hours - 8 hours, depending on the destination. While many visitors to New York have specific sites they would like to see, many are happy to let our team create a custom itinerary that fits their interests, budget, mobility, and timeline. Typically, tours spend most of their time in and around the five boroughs of New York City, but we welcome any ideas for your dream tour.

New York City&rsquo;s Central Park is known around the world from being one of the most filmed locations in the world, but you&rsquo;ll be impressed when you take a private highlights (2-3 hours) tour and learn its fascinating history and far-reaching cultural influence around the globe.

Your Highlights tour may focus in on the southern section of the park, where we&rsquo;ll discover several movie sites from the 1950s to the present. While you take in the carefully landscaped grounds, you&rsquo;ll spot iconic Central Park landmarks, including the Bethesda Fountain, The Imagine Memorial, and the ever-popular Alice in Wonderland sculpture.

Consider a 4-6&ndash;hour experience to enjoy a leisurely walk through the park as your guide points out its flora and fauna. We&rsquo;ll have a chance to stop at a few lakes known for being a prime spot for wedding photos and where your guide can act as your photographer.

Part of your half-day tour can include admission to the American Museum of Natural History. This institution is one of the best natural history museums in the world, containing millions of specimens of plants, animals, fossils, rocks, and human artifacts.

Your guide can navigate you to the various halls depending on your interests &ndash; from the Hall of Birds of the World to everyone&rsquo;s favorite, the dinosaur exhibit &ndash; or feel free to wander and learn on your own.

<h3>Full-Day Tour:</h3>

If you choose to spend your whole day (up to 8 hours) with us, we&rsquo;ll be happy to dive deeper into Central Park and its vast collection of sculptures, landmarks, and mysteries, and maximize our time in two of NYC&rsquo;s eminent museums, including the aforementioned American Museum of Natural History as well as The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

As the largest art museum in the country, you&rsquo;ll want to see as much as you can of the institution&rsquo;s impressive collection of over two million works.

Your guide can help you discover the true gems of the American Wing, displaying American art from the 18th through the early 20th century, and incredible pieces by impressionist artists.

Your Central Park walking tour takes place in the world&rsquo;s largest man-made park, a Manhattan green space containing sculptures, historic structures, and a variety of wildlife. As we enjoy a stroll along the tree-lined paths, we&rsquo;ll include stories of the park&rsquo;s original inhabitants and their forced expulsion. You&rsquo;ll also be impressed by the history of communities coming together to support conservation and science conservation education, helping to preserve and maintain the park&rsquo;s many habitats.

Bethesda Terrace

On your New York Central Park tour with us, you&rsquo;ll enjoy gorgeous views of The Lake and surrounding landscape at this gorgeous fountain and arcade dating back to the 1860s.

<h4>Strawberry Fields, John Lennon Memorial</h4>

We&rsquo;ll pay tribute to music icon John Lennon at this beautifully tiled mosaic, not far from the location where Lennon was shot and fatally wounded. Many come to this circle at the edge of the park to remember his music, often performing hit songs like Imagine.

<h4>Bow Bridge</h4>

You&rsquo;ll enjoy gorgeous views of and from this footbridge crossing over The Lake. We&rsquo;ll see plenty of wildlife in and near the water and learn about how various organizations help to preserve the delicate ecosystems found throughout the park.

<h4>Central Park&#39;s Literary Walk</h4>

This promenade is the perfect place to sit and people-watch, living and sculptural: several statues including the likes of Shakespeare and Robert Burns can be found here, standing silently under the towering elm trees.

Your tour guide will highlight the conservation efforts undertaken by Audubon Society, a company dedicated to preserving wildlife and bird migration for over 100 years.

Included in your tour ticket price is a donation / admission to the American Museum of Natural History, whose mission is to discover, interpret, and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world, and the universe through a wide-ranging program of scientific research, education, and exhibition.

Your guide will speak about the important role of the Central Park Conservancy in maintaining and fostering wildlife within the park.

The narrative of this experience features stories often underrepresented or even misrepresented in history, including the displacement of African American farmers and immigrant groups
