Wanaka



Wanaka is a famous resort town in the Central Otago region of New Zealand.Its the gateway to the Southern Alps' Mount Aspiring National Park, icy glaciers, lush forests and crystal clear lakes.

The long sunny days during summer in Wanaka offers the best time for adventures. Winters have frosty mornings and clear skies. Six international ski areas are open, and winter is the best time for snowboarding, heli-skiing and snowshoeing.

 

Try out kayaking, mountain climbing and skydiving. The mighty Clutha river kayak is a 22km long route full of twists turns and 1-2 grade rapids. Spend half a day kayaking at lake Wanaka and catch glimpses of Stevensons Island, The Peninsula and Glendhu Bay.
